Hello,

I connected the DC1 and DC2 pins of the ST10F269 abusively to +5V and worked with that PCB for days (yes I know, it's very stupid, but the PCB was first designed for a C167CR). It worked without any problem (as it seems). Now I fixed it.

Can anyone tell me if this can cause permanent damage to the controller?

Hello,

The DC1 and DC2 pins are used for decoupling the internally generated 3.3V core logic supply. They must NOT be connected to 5.0V external supply.

These pins should be connected to decoupling capacitors which are mandatory, otherwise the internal regulator will not work correctly.

So your PCB should be re-designed in order to introduce the decoupling capacitors.

Hello,

We are already changing the PCBs. However, the problem is that we have several PCB's which have been operated for days with this error. So my question is: is it likely that the microcontrollers are damaged? If so, then we have to exchange them after changing the PCB.
