Despite its advanced age (the TVS SM5908 has been on the market since 1999), there are currently no signs of it being discontinued. The global market still needs to protect its products against overvoltage, for which TVS with 1500W are perfectly suited. As it is also the only TVS for 5V and such power, it will almost certainly still be available in 2029 and beyond. However, this is my personal assessment and we cannot provide a written guarantee.
