hang after the message 'Freeing unused kernel memory..'

    I run a customized linux system on stpc atlas, the kernel is 2.4.20, the filesystem is from redhat9.0.

    On bootstrapping, the system boots from Lilo perfectly well until it

    comes to the section shown in the attached file. It sits there after

    the message 'Freeing unused kernel memory: 136k freed' and requires a reboot to.. produce the message again.

    Any hint will be helpful and appreciated! Thank you!
