Hi, Was planning to implement a design based on STUSB4500. have some queries about the working of STUSB4500 under different conditions.

1. If we are using A_B_Side for Super speed MUX selection, whether this A_B_side will be available on following

a) if a USB2.0 or Type A connected to Type C port using a USB2.0 or Type A to Type C connector.

b)Whether ATTACH or A_B_Side is suitable for Highspeed MUX selection for pin selection for High speed communication.

2.if OTG device is connected to Type C port, will the STUSB block the VBUS to be applied to the peripheral through Type C. (Connecting External Hard disk using OTG in the Type C port)

Hello

A_B_side is giving info of active row on TypeC connector. Thus it is available also on legacy to TypeC connection.

For SuperSpeed communication (USB3x) A_B side is suitable to select the appropriate row on connector and attach can be used to enable the switch.

I guess that what you mean by OTG is a dual role port with microA ? stusb4500 closes VBUS path only on valid con,ection, i e if the counterpart applied Rp AND VBUS received is in the good range/
