High optimization of IAR Embedded Workbench 9.60.3

What does the 'High' optimization  actually do in IAR Embedded Workbench 9.60.3 when the 'Size' option is selected, but no additional optimization checkboxes are enabled. Even without selecting any extra options(like CSE, loop unrolling, etc. ), the code size reduces significantly—up to 30%. How is the  IAR Embedded Workbench 9.60.3 achieving this reduction, and what specific optimizations are being performed in this case.

the IAR Embedded Workbench is a product of IAR, so this question can probably only be answered by someone from IAR, if they happen to be reading here.
