HVLED815PF on Power Supply eDesignSuite

Hi There,

It would be great to be able to choose HVLED815PF on eDesignSuite, when selecting:

Power Conversion -> Power Supply -> AC/DC -> Isolated -> QR Flyback (with HPF), instead of only as LED Driver. The purpose is to use it in designs with less than 11W (actual Pout in general/home lighting produtcs) with CV, PSR, Wide Mains and HPF, instead of using the HVLED0001/A models that despite working, were made for much higher power supplies (75W). The HVLED815PF shows this kind of use (CV) on the application note:

''AN4350

: High power factor LED driver with constant voltage regulation based on HVLED815PF''

(that has some errors on formulas still to solve - we already submitted a request for the correction or an errata) but unfortunately the eDesignSuite doesn't seem to let us use it on the same way.

Hi Pedro,

I forwarded your suggestion to our Power Conversion division engineers and marketers.

Every new design inside eDesignSuite must be agreed, planned, created, validated and reviewed by them. I'll let you know what they think about it.

However, for applications where the high power factor function is not fundamental, you could use ALTAIR device, already present in eDesignSuite.

Thanks for the help Patrizia, but we really need the high power factor feature. The update of eDesignSuite (with PSR-CV HVLED815PF and MC34063 DC-DC designs) will be our Christmas Wish this year.
