Does anybody know if I can disable the IDE bus and use only the ISA bus.

If that´s possible, is there a way to generate internally the chip selects when the IDE Bus is disabled?

The fact is that I cannot use the IDE bus but I need to access a Hard drive. I could implement it on the ISA Bus, but i need the chip select signals. Unfortunatelly I don´t have enough room to place any kind of decoder.

    If anyone has a clue...

    Thanks.

You message misses details for an answer from the people:

    - what CPU are you using?

    - ISA and IDE almost share the same lines, why can't you use the IDE?

    - can your BIOS allow you to use a USB hard drive?
