    - Windows XP and Windows XPe doesn't work (need Pentium instruction like CPUID and CMPXCHG).

    - Windows NT and Windows 2000 does work. Windows 2000 is a bit slow but it is usable.

    - Windows ME... I don't know.

Thanks very much for your information.

Is there any special requirment on the hardware to make the Altas work with Windows 2000? We have tried to install it but failed.

To save time I install on a pentium platform and re-use the hard disk on my Atlas board. I never tried to install directly on the Atlas. I just use an evaluation board without additional hardware.

I forgot something: I use a 64MB SDRAM. Win2000 is able to boot with the on board 32MB but it is very very... very slow.

I tried to install Win ME and it failed because it detected a CPU speed under 150MHz.

I had Windows 2000 installed on a Dell Optiplex GX240 and transferred the harddisk to the STPC. It just can't boot up correctly. After ''Starting Windows'' bar at the bottom of screen runs to the right end, STPC restart automatically.

I have tried all different boot modes (pressing F

: Safe mode, Safe mode DOS, Debugging mode ... etc. All modes does the same thing. Restart automatically.

    I am using 64MB RAM at 133MHz.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks for your help.

I have always been dubious of installing windows on one hardware platform, then transfering the hard drive accross to another platform. Although I have never had any major problems doing it under Linux, I would reccommend to install any windows product directly to the STPC board.

My guess is it could be that Win2k is trying to use special scsi drivers (or other special drivers for that matter) that were installed for your DELL platform, which may not be working correctly with the STPC?
