Has anyone an applicationnote, how to build a lowcost

PCMCIA Interface for STPC? My be with the 16 Bit Interface?

I know, that PCMCIA Controllers over PCI are possible,

    but they are to expensive.

It depend if you would like to support CardBus card. The PCMCIA is an extension of the ISA bus when the CardBus is an extension of the PCI bus, backward compatible with PCMCIA.

If you would like to support both PCMCIA and CardBus card, you need a CardBus adapter, available for PCI only.

If it is acceptable for you to support PCMCIA card only, you can use a PCMCIA adapter for ISA.

(FYI: The STPC Atlas already integrate a PCMCIA interface)

    Thank you for your answer!

We need only the linear mode and the ATA mode, because we use it for memory cards.

Were can I get cheap ISA -PCMCIA adapter - IC?

It would be great, if it is served by VxWorks.

If you would like something compatible with VxWorks, just verify it is compatible with the intel i82365. It is the standard for PCMCIA.

I have got a i82365 compatible ISA to PCMCIA board and the reference of the chip is Vadem VG-469. The board is a bit old. I don't know if Vadem is still producing the chip.

It look like the Vadem chip is now sell by Amphus:

Note that memory card use an ATAPI interface and is able to connect to the IDE of the STPC with just a small additional logic. It is usually easier than going through the PCMCIA.
