Replacement for EMIF02-USB03F2 (Obsolete) in MB997E Reference Design

Hello,

I have developed a custom board based on the MB997E reference design, which uses the EMIF02-USB03F2 for USB EMI filtering and ESD protection. Since this component has been declared obsolete, I would like to know:

  1. What is the recommended replacement part from STMicroelectronics for EMIF02-USB03F2?
  2. If no direct replacement exists, what are the suggested alternative solutions (e.g., other ST EMI/ESD filter ICs, or combination of discrete ESD diodes and common-mode chokes) that can be used in new designs?
  3. Are there any application notes or migration guidelines provided for updating designs that currently rely on EMIF02-USB03F2?

This information would help me update my design to ensure long-term availability and compliance.

Essentially, you are asking the same question that has already been asked and answered here. To my knowledge, there is no migration guideline, as EMIF02-USB03F2 was developed for the now deprecated USB 2.0 and there is no recommended replacement.
