Question

Routing for USBLC6-2SC6

Hi,

I am creating my own PCB based on the Nucleo144pin board. From what I understand, the USBLC6-2SC6 is meant to be an ESD protection IC. The USBLC6-2 datasheet recommends that the input is not connected to the output. However, the inputs from the USB connector is shorted to the output of the USBLC6-2SC6 in the Nucleo144pin board. Is there an intended function for this or is it an error?

Hi! the routing between terminals allow to not mount the USBLC6 on the nucleo board. As you say, this is not recommended for optimum protection.
