    I have ST72264 SCI protocol question. This is copied from Datasheet:

    Bit TC is cleared by a software sequence (an access to the

    SCISR register followed by a write to the SCIDR register).

    My question:

    Is it necessary that these two instructions are followed directly each by other or is it possible to insert some other instruction(s) in between?
