SMCJxxA, SMCJxxCA about IRM for the SMCJ5.0A/CA

Reading the data sheet of SMCJxxA, SMCJxxCA,

for the SMCJ5.0A/CA it is specified an IRM of 500uA ( 2000uA at 85C) at 5V it seem not consistant whith the SMBJ type witch seem to be the same (exept power handling).

(In SMBJXXA data sheet miss witch is bidi and unidirectional what is CA and what is A)

The datasheet of the SMCJ is completely correct (since 1999, by the way) and guarantees IRM max 500µA (2000µA at 85DEGC) at 5V. You will find similar values with SMCJ5.0A/CA from other vendors as well.

SMBJ are different TVS and provides different values.

Maybe you missed it - the datasheet of the SMBJ does mention how bidirectional / unidirectional is labeled. You will find this information in section 10 (ordering information, page 10):

    • CA = Bidirectional
    • A = Unidirectional

    Good luck!
