Spikes on the GIO line

Whenever I try to configure the GIO pin from output mode to the input mode in ST6230, I see a glitch on the oscilloscope. This leads to error in transmission of data. What can I do to avoid this??

Hi,

check the transition from output to input against the diagram in the data sheet.

if you get this wrong, the pin can be set to another mode (ADC, floating input, pull-up input, interrupt etc) before it gets to your selected mode.

you may also be changing the data register while the pin is still an output.
