I notice this is used on the STR91x EVAL board. Is it OK for new designs or likely to become obsolete in the near future ?

Can you recommend an alternative MII PHY device please.

    Thanks.

    Hello fellow STR91x users.

I've had a look at various STR91x and other evaluation boards and here is what they use for the ethernet PHY device:

    Keil DP83848

    ST STE100P

    Atmel DM9161AE

    IAR STE100P

I think I will use STE100P, there seems to be more info and demo s/w for it.

    Hello!

I am using Davicom DM9161AEP with Taimag RJLBC-060TC magnetics - it works, it is RoHS and I can buy it from Dacom West GmbH.

Are you using this chip in MII or RII mode ?

I am not an ethernet expert, therefore I have to rely on ST example software, they use MII interface which requires many more pins to interface to STR91x

    Hi,

I am using MII. There are some special registers on the chip, but I guess it should work by using example from ST - but I don't try it.
