Hello Communnity,

I would like to know what is the minimum pulse frequency for STHV800 chip? Can it operate with 40-100 KHz piezoelectric transducer?

Thank you.

    Hello, Lionel,

Definitely the STHV800 can operate @ 'low' frequency down in the rage of 40-100 KHz, driving all piezo elements for which the equivalent RC network is not 'heavy' in terms of current demand. So considering 40KHz as a switching frequency and, for instance, you want excite your piezo up ±90V the HV state duration is 25us, therefore if the load impedance is current demanding you risk to reach the thermal threshold close to 150°C, so that pulser goes in thermal shutdown (THSD)

    Hope this help to clarify

    Hi,

I have the same question but would like to create even longer pulses (e.g. 400us but with a low current of maybe 25 mA, not for ultrasound but for another application). Anything that prevents me from doing that except the thermal threshold (e.g. ac coupling in the FET driver or something else) ?

    Thanks,
