    Hi zouh,

I tried what you said. I have uploaded zimage.bin from uClinux package for STR710-EVAL, and I get:

    <

    Uncompressing Linux...

    incomplete literal tree

    -- System halted>>

I tried also uploaded this zimage.bin (at 64k offset) and jffs2.img (at 2M offset), with the same result.

I have tried in another PC with the same result. I'm not able to start downloaded zimage from STR710-EVAL.

    Any idea?

    Hi,

I followed application note AN2119, I have dowloaded bootloader into STR710 through REALVIEW JTAG, afterwards I started and configured Hyperterminal, the I saw bootloader information on the Hyperterminal windows after rebooting the Eval Board, I pressed '1' and sent to the board the zimage.bin file, after this I pressed '2' and flashed this image on offset '64k', and finally pressed '3'. All what I get is the error I posted before.

Here some hints how to load to image inside evalboard:

    1) You should be using latest version of RVDK 1.7

    2) Before you start programming the flash memory, you have to connect to

    the correct target - ST-STR710-EVAL

    3) There is a slight difference between the AN2119 and new RVDK1.7, on

figure three it is written, that you should select 'raw' format for

loading, but in new version you have to select 'rawb' format.

I have attached picture where you can see correct loading of boot loader

    inside flash memory.

    4) Double check the jumper settings on your board it is mandatory.

    5) During step 3.5 Program the Image to External Flash you have to enter following parameters: 64k, 2m

    >>>>

Please input the offset of target flash:

    64k

Please input the image size(in bytes):

    2m

    Erasing Block...OK

    Programming ... 100%

    Verifying...OK

    Successfully completed!

I have tried it on my side and everything works fine.

Please post us version of SW tools you are using including OS on host computer and terminal application.

On my side I am using RVDK1.7, Hyperterminal on WinXP.

    Hi Ivous,

I'm using RVDK 1.7 (I attached an image), with the target you said, ST-STR710-EVAL, I did bootloader upload as you said in your reply, in rawb mode. During Bootloader upload process jumpers SW15 and SW13 are in 2-3 position, and SW14 in 1-2 position. After this, jumpers are set to 2-3 position (SW13,SW14, and SW15).

I entered 64k offset (and 64k offset, 2m size) with the same result.

I'm using Hyperterminal on WinXP (V2002 Service Pack 2).

I have attached screenshots of the entire process and the zimage.bin file, also the bootloader file.
