unable to get the device descriptor's description

Hi

friends ,

There is a firmware having the USB libraries apart from the code . The firmware is successfully burnt on the device through the in- circuit programming . when i plug the device on my PC and try to see the device descriptor using a software all the fields of the device descriptor is zero . but it shows that the device is connected and bus powered.

i am not able to trace the fault

can any body take me out of this situation
