Using ECMF4-20A42N10 for multiple communication types?

I have currently implemented this device in the USB3 channels, but wondering if it is suitable for use in the 100 base Automotive Ethernet, 10/100/1000 Ethernet and CAN (up to 1Mbit/s) channels given they are significantly slower? More to rationalise the number of different parts on quite a complex PCB than anything else. Including the ESD and EMI protection in the one device also makes layout a lot simpler.

ECMF4-20A42N10 bandwidth is compatible with all standards you mention. However, for CAN, 24V bidirectional ESD protection (for 12V battery car) are generally requested, which is not the case of ECMF4-20A42N10. If 24V bidirectional ESD protection is needed on your application, I suggest to use ESDCAN series protection: for example, ESDCAN04-2BWY.
