Can we use ECMF4-40A100N10 for protecting USB3.2 Gen2x2 Superspeed TX/RX lines?

ECMF4-40A100N10 can be used for protecting USB3.2 Gen2x2 Superspeed TX and RX lines. 

Eye diagram measurements have been performed for 5Gbps and 10Gbps, according to test setup defined in USB 3.2 standard (i.e. reference cable, equalizer and DFE for 10Gbps).

These measurements show that ECMF4-40A100N10 is compliant with mask defined in standard.

Eye diagram measurements have been performed without ECMF4-40A100N10, to have a reference, and then with ECMF4-40A100N10. On datasheet, they are figures 10, 11, 12 and 13.

For Gen 2x2, two ECMF4-40A100N10 are needed:

• one for TX1+, TX1-, RX1+, RX1-
• one for TX2+, TX2-, RX2+, RX2-

Also, solutions to protect and filter all pins of USB Type-C connector are presented on AN4871.
