    Hi.

I have brought up my hardware and runnig Linux 2.6.9 on it.

after i managed to install O.S from Fedora core 3 installation image, i have been able to compile the whole kernel source over and over again.

    first.

I tried 3 different compile option for CPU.

    0. AMDk5, 5x86,6x86

    1. Pentium

    2. Pentium MMX

    3. PPro

    4. Pentium 2

(i knew previously that STM's CP250 core is a derivation from Rise' core so it obviously is not cyrics 6x86 nor amd' K5 , so i omitted conf 0 intestionally.and after running successfully Pentimu MMX, i skipped the conf 1 with Pentium..)

the option 3 gets kernel to panic state, and with option 4, it continues to reboot.

with option2, the kernel boots successfully and kernel reports CPU as Rise iDragon.. (quite reasonable...)

    my questions are.

    1. VEGA is pentium to class, ok, but with what respect it is considered as PII class?

    2. Does the VEGA supports PII binary OP Codes or VEGA's instruction OP Codes are compatible with Intel PII?

    3. how or what can i try if i would run PPro or Pentium2 compiled Linux kernel 2.6.9?

any hint or hack would be appreciated.

    thank you.

    Best regards.
