Question

We got ST parts, P/N M24C02-RMC6TG, which was found with dual/ghost marking on the top surface of the devices. Is it a normal condition of the laser printing or a defect from the original ST factory.

Just want to make sure such dual/ghost marking would not have any adverse impact to the parts quality.

    Hello,

Looks like an 3D effect indeed. Is this related to a picture with wrong focus or marking is really like this ?

Dot is clearly identified and marked.

    • Do you have issues with manufacturing production (slow down, blocking step?)
    • Do you have several parts with such ghost marking ?

Anyways from quality point of view, this marking will not impact the quality or reliability parts.

    Best Regards

    Team EEPROM suPPort.

    Hello there,

It is an actual printing image on the devices which we considered as abnormal printing and so we worried about the quality of parts & still not shipped to our end customer for production use. Since the devices are packaged on tape & reel, we could only take out few sample units randomly from the tape and all are reported with ghost marking. Would ST consider this type of ghost marking as normal condition and just ship to the customer? How would this ghost marking occur?

    Regards,
