Why is there no single-phase D-SMPS PFC in eDesignSuite?

Can the Vienna https://eds.st.com/vienna/ be modified easily to become a single phase?

Just curious if anyone has done it before.

first of all thanks for your interest in eDesignSuite and in our products.

eDesignSuite supports single phase PFC circuit design based on CCM boost topology with L4985, L4986 and L4984 Controllers(https://eds.st.com/console/#/app/acdc/ic_acdc_catalogs/filter/%5B%22PFC%20Pre-regulation%22,%22Pfc%20Boost%22%5D/grid).

Soon we will have solutions addressing higher power range with digital control.

Vienna is not typically used in single phase applications. Modifications to the HW and FW make it impractical for single phase line.

Our company (ASM/ASMPT Singapore) has been using ST products and L4981 (for PFC) for quite some time now. We use Viper and other MOSFETs as well.

We are now transitioning into Digital SMPS and we are exploring Digital PFC but single phase only at the moment.

I am curious if the code generated in Vienna https://eds.st.com/vienna/ can be modified to a single phase.

If not, why is there no example for Digital PFC unlike DC-DC conv. like Boost and Buck.

The only DSMPS PFC example is the transition mode which is applicable only to low power.

Other examples are provided with binary files and no source codes.
