Why STEVAL-IME013V1 does not work with +/-5V to power but it works with USB cable?

 I am trying to generate high voltage pulses using STEVAL-IME013V1 but I could not manage so far. I applied;

VDD=5V DC

VSS=-5V DC

HVP=HCP_CW= 20V DC

HVM=HVM_CW= -20V DC

When I use USB cable, the boards turns on, lights work fine, all buttons work. However, when I used +/-5V to power the board, ligths do not turn on, buttons do not work and I cannot select any pre-programmed programs.

I do not know why board does not work with +/-5V to power but it turns on with USB cable.

Can you please help me on this?

You can try other power supplies to supply VDD and VSS.
