STM32F030K6 batch / lot number booting problem.

Is there a difference in firmware or other features between two batches (GQ20D 9U CHN2331E) and (GQ24G 9U CHN44811)?

The 1st batch number is not booting everytime compared to the 2nd batch number, when pulling Pin26 high. not good.jpg  good.jpg

The fault carries if I swap chips.

> not booting

How do you know? What are the symptoms and how are they different from the expectations?

And why do you pull pin 26 high?

That gives the impression it seems to be a hardware/PCB issue!

Could you please give more details about what do you mean by "swapping chips"?

The Technician had a known working assembly, removed the chip and put the suspect chip on. The fault of not booting every time has now carried over to the known working assembly.

Hello,

I suggest to contact your local FAE for this case.

Welcome to the forum.

Please give more context - see: How to write your question to maximize your chances to find a solution

What are these boards?

Are they your own design, or are you playing with somebody else's design/product?

Are you able to connect a debugger, and use it to see what's happening?

Firmware is nothing to do with ST - that's loaded by whoever built the board/product.

It is always possible that whoever built the boards loaded different firmware into different boards!

Its an LED strobe light. Not our design, we build it for another company and limited access to support.
No, we are unable to connect to a debugger.
The reason I was speculating that it's the chip is all other date codes we have programmed work fine, but the chips coded GQ20D 9U CHN2331E don't function as intended.

So you are programming the firmware into the chips?

You're certain that the firmware is identical in all chips?

Do you ensure the chips are blank before programming?
