At the STM32 Summit, we announced STM32 Sidekick, an AI-powered tool that promises to accelerate productivity, helping developers spend less time searching and more time innovating.

This brand-new AI agent assists engineers in efficiently locating relevant technical information, obtaining concise summaries of complex topics, and discovering documentation that might have previously gone unnoticed. It operates seamlessly within the community environment, delivering results in record time and ensuring availability 24/7in a self-sufficient manner.

STM32 Sidekick is trained exclusively on official STM32 datasheets, reference manuals, user manuals, application notes, wiki entries, and community knowledge base articles.

Here is a closer look at what STM32 Sidekick offers, how to maximize its benefits, and why it is worth integrating into your development workflow.

What STM32 Sidekick offers

  • Personalized suggestions: when you submit a query, STM32 Sidekick analyzes the context and recommends official STM32 documentation and community knowledgebase articles that are most relevant to your question.
  • Concise summaries: STM32 Sidekick provides clear and focused summaries that highlight the key points from the suggested documents. These summaries enable you to quickly understand essential information without reading entire manuals or datasheets upfront.
  • Direct links: each recommendation includes embedded direct links to official STM32 documentation, allowing you to access the trusted source of the information immediately.

STM32 Sidekick: a valuable tool for saving time when searching for the correct technical documents.

Although the STM32 Sidekick interface is primarily in English, developers can ask questions in multiple languages, including Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian, and German, and receive responses in their preferred language.

By exposing you to a broader range of STM32 documentation and resources, it is an excellent way to continue learning and enhance your expertise over time. While STM32 Sidekick leverages verified AI-powered algorithms to provide accurate and reliable responses, it is essential to cross-check critical design decisions against official documentation. For insights into how AI is used within STM32 Sidekick and to understand data handling and privacy considerations, refer to the ST AI transparency report.

    Instead of making us search for Sidekick, why didn't you place a link in the article?

    @tpi ,

    there's no link, Sidekick can't be opened in a standalone tab/window. You have to click at the yellow icon at the top right bottom, and then it opens its own popup within the current top/window.

    Hello Community team,

    First, I’m really happy to use this AI platform. However, one point to note is that the documentation used to answer questions is not always up to date, which may lead the model to generate incorrect answers.

    For example, when asking about the supported boards in the latest version of X-CUBE-Matter, the model mentions the STM32WB, which is no longer supported in the current release. This answer appears to be based on DB5144 Rev. 3 (released in May 2025),

    whereas the latest documentation is Rev. 4, released in December 2025.

    It would therefore be beneficial to ensure automatic updates of the documentation used by the platform, or at least to indicate in the response the date of the last time the platform was fed with updated documentation.

    Best Regards.
