I am searching for small NFC reader to make our new device.

The function we want is that it automatically recognizes when a small object with an NFC tag is mounted on a device.

Thus, We want to have an NFC reader on our device and attach NFC tags to small objects to mount on the device.

Is it possible to use ST25R3916B as NFC reader to read Ntag213?

If it is possible, how can I get some samples?

    Hi Cho,

    not sure where you are struggling... Going through https://www.st.com/en/nfc/st25r3916.html#sample-buy I clicked on distributors which is giving big list. On this list are multiple distributors for Japan, I checked e.g. Mouser and on their Japanese website I was able to get their offer of ST25R3916.

    Hi Cho,

    T2T tags (such as NTAG213) can be read by any of the ST25R readers:

    The ST25R readers family shares the same RF Abstraction Layer (RFAL) API i.e. applications developed on top of the RFAL API can be reused on any of the ST25R readers after recompiling. The RFAL API provides the support for T2T tag Read and Write.

    Applications can be easily prototyped on STM32 Nucleo-64 board (typically NUCLEO-L476RG) with NFC reader expansion boards:

    Samples of the components and boards can be ordered from distributors (see Sample & Buy tab on the various products web pages).

    Note: NTAG213 can be replaced by ST25TN series NFC tags (T2T tags).

    Thank you for your reply.
    It's good news that ST25R can be used as the NFC reader that we want.
    We want to try a sample and if it does work on our device, we want to buy it.
    However, I can not find "See Sample & Buy tab" on each distributor's web page.
    Doesn't it offer sample service in Japan?
