Looking for smart cards working on different standards. Anybody have an idea where can I find those?

I have been working on a project with CR95HF multi-protocol transceiver IC. The obvious advantage of it is that it can read tags working with different protocols (different standards).

I already coded so the IC reads different standards according to the datasheet but all I need now is to test the functionality. I have a Mifare classic tag at home, but I would like to test 14443B, 15693 and 18092 tags. Any idea where can I find a set of tags all working on a different standards? All I need is couple read only cards where I can read a UID of them (possibly having a UID written on the to see if the reading is correct) so I can see if my algorithms are coded correctly. Any idea where can I buy a cards like this or if I can somehow obtain them from someone?? Thanks a lot for the help!

    Hi,

    • For ISO/IEC 15693 tags, you can use ski passes from almost any ski resort. You can also purchase an M24LR-DISCOVERY kit where an ISO/IEC 15693 tag is available, or a ST25DV-PWM-eSET or a ST25DV-DISCOVERY kit.
    • For 18092, you can use Android NFC smartphone (most of them emulate both ISO/IEC 14443-A and 18092 tags).
    • For ISO/IEC 14443-B, you can use a bio-metric passport.

Hey, thank you for the quick reply!

I've looked into what you recommended me and have a couple more quick question on you.

    • In the data sheet of CR95HF, you state: ISO/IEC 15693 tags, NFC Forum tags: Types 1, 2, 3 and 4. The board you recommended me (ST25DV-PWM-eSET) has in datasheet stated: Based on ISO/IEC 15693 and NFC Forum Type 5. Of course I believe you, when you said it will work, that it will actually work but my question is why in the CR95HF there is not mentioned NFC forum tag 5 is also supported?
    • I also found ST25TV-eSEAL discovery board, where is stated is also based on ISO/IEC 15693. I assume that will also work, but just making sure if it will.

Thank you so much for your recommendations for 18092 and 14443B! I will be trying them out soon! You helped me a lot!

    Hi,

I would suggest to use ST25R95 datasheet which contains the most up to date information regarding the ST25R95/CR95HF transceiver:

    Typical protocols supported:

    • ISO/IEC 14443-3 Type A and B tags
    • ISO/IEC 15693 tags
    • ISO/IEC 18000-3M1 tags
    • NFC Forum tags: Types 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

To make a long story short on Standards:

    • Based on ISO/IEC 14443-3 Type A , 3 types of tags are defined: T1, T2 and T4-A
    • based on ISO/IEC 14443-3 Type B, one type of tag is defined: T4-B
    • based on ISO/IEC 18000- (aka Felica), one type of tag is defined: T3
    • based on ISO/IEC 15693: one type of tag is defined: T5

Both ST25DV-PWM-eSET or  ST25DV-DISCOVER or ST25TV-eSEAL work perfectly with ST25R95/CR95HF.
