SMARTAG1 n.m. notation meaning

Hi, I was just wondering if someone knew what n.m. meant on the schematic of the SMARTAG1. I assume do not populate but if so what purpose do these components serve if populated?

    Indeed, it is stated in the Bill of Materials that these are not mounted:

    Presumably to accommodate different variants/revisions of the board;  eg, using a different accelerometer?
