Question

STEVAL-25R200A use with another MCU ?

Hello everyone,

I just received the STEVAL-25R200A evaluation kit and I have a few doubts.

1. Can I connect this board directly to another MCU?
2. If yes, are the SPI pins available on the PCB?
3. I found that the board uses an STM32G0B1KEU. Should I develop and test the firmware for this MCU using STM32CubeIDE first, and then later port it to my custom board?
Thank you!

    Hi,

For development purposes, it is recommended to use the X-NUCLEO-NFC10A1 and connect it to your MCU board, such as a NUCLEO-64 board if your MCU is an STM32 MCU. An X-CUBE-NFC10 firmware package is available, containing all the libraries required for developing an application.

The X-NUCLEO-NFC10A1 provides access to the SPI pins (which is not the case on STEVAL-25R200A).

Which kind of MCU will be used on your custom board?

    Thank you for your answer.

I will be using the i.MX RT series MCU with the ST25R200 NFC reader.

My other question is: Can I update or modify the firmware on the STEVAL-25R200SA kit according to my requirements?

    Hi,

the STEVAL-25R200SA firmware is covered by a Software License Agreement (SLA) that is provided inside the firmware package. Please check the licensing terms and conditions in that SLA for the updates/modifications of the sources.
