ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

Hello,We recently designed an antenna patterns for  M24SR64-Y chip. As per the spec, the central frequency of this chip is centered around 14.2MHz, (Please correct me if my understanding is wrong). Thus we proceeded to design the antenna with STM edesign suite with 5uH inductanceThe target inductance was set to 5uH, with 35u copper thickness and 1.6mm PCB thickness, For reference, I have attached the image below. We recently got the antenna manufactured and found that the inductance of the antenna is around 5.6uH. We can communicate with the NFC chip. Here are our queries1. We are not sure why we have shift in inductance value from 5uH to 5.6uH ?2.   Hello everyone,I'm currently working with the ST25DV NFC tag and I've encountered an issue with configuring GPO (General Purpose Output) interrupts. My goal is to trigger interrupts using various GPO masks, but I've run into a problem where only 'ST25DV_GPO_FIELDCHANGE_MASK' mask seems to work.  I configured this register with this function CUSTOM_NFCTAG_ConfigIT(CUSTOM_NFCTAG_INSTANCE, ST25DV_GPO_ENABLE_MASK | ST25DV_GPO_FIELDCHANGE_MASK );   I also used other masks but they are not working. I know that I am changing the register because i can read the gpo register with HAL_StatusTypeDef statuss = HAL_I2C_Mem_Read(&hi2c1, 0b1010111 << 1, 0x0, 2, &nfcPasswordd, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); Maybe someone knows how I can configure the GPO to generate an interrupt when a message is sent to the mailbox, instead of when the field changes.

I'm trying to read NDEF messages from my ST25DV64KC tag over I2C link. I have been able to read the CC file successfully but the NfcType5_NDEFDetection() method is failing while reading the first four bytes of the NDEF message from User memory. Hi, I’m working with an ST25R3916B custom board connected via SPI to a custom embedded Linux system. The system is running the ST25R3916_v2.8.0_Linux_demo_v1.0, but it is unable to detect any NFC tags.The issue seems to originate from the nfc_demo_st3916b application, specifically in st25r3916.c at the st25r3916OscOn() function. The application fails at the check on ST25R3916_REG_AUX_DISPLAY_osc_ok at line 287. To bypass this, I commented out the check, which allowed the application to run, but it still does not detect any tags.Here’s what I’ve observed:With ST25R_SELFTEST defined in st25r3916.c, I see a 400 µsec pulse on the IRQ line when the application starts, and it runs without errors. However, no further pulses or signals are observed on the IRQ line afterward.When I define ST25R_SELFTEST_TIMER in st25r3916.c, the initialization fails on the second test at line 232, and I do not observe any pulse on the IRQ line at all.I would greatly appreciate any advice or recommendations

NFC5 cards have read and write functions for T2T. I could not find such o source code for NF3 cards. Could you help me? (IC Number : ST25R95)

Hello, I'm using it with a custom board. I'm facing problem with switches the ST25R95 into low power consumption mode When I send Calibrate command, it can work and return 0x78. But if I send another command like wake up in IRQ_IN(07 0E 08 01 00 38 00 18 00 00 60 00 00 00 00 00) or tag detection(>0x07 0E 0A 21 00 79 01 18 00 20 60 60 70 80 3F 08),ST25R95 return me just 0xFD,I don't know why.   Kindly help me out.

Hello i have a design using the st25r3918 and I have the reader portion of the design up and running using the latest rfal 3.0.  The device we are designing also requires the reader to act as a tag.  We would prefer to do this in passive target mode and emulate a nfca tag rather then listener mode as shown in the BLE pairing example.  Is there an example or procedure to place the device in passive target mode?As a side note we have been working on using the active target mode and while I can detect the nfca field and the rfal moves to the card emulation state the radio state stays at radio busy so no data is recieved by the phone. ThanksEd

Hello,I'm using ST25DV64KC NFC to communicate with Raspberry Pi 4 Model 4 over 12C. I would like to access static registers from I2C, and is a bit confused on I2C addressing. Hello,I am working with the ST X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1, the X-Cube-NFC6, and the NTP5332 (NTAG 5) NFC V Tag from NXP. According to the NTAG’s datasheet, a "read config" is performed using the command "0xC0," and "write config" using the command "0xC1." The frame structure for these commands is described as follows:   The Data for reading and writing the config memory on address 0x37 should look like this:I would like to write the value "08120F00h" to the block with the address "0x37." I have used the function "rfalNfcvPollerTransceiveReq()" to first read the data , and it looks as follows:"err" is getting the Value "ERR_TIMEOUT" when i try to do this. Hi, Iam a embedded systems engineer currently working on a NFC payment terminal using Android as it OS.We have selected the ST25R3916B chip as the NFC transceiver, given its hardware characteristics it would be perfectly suitable for our application.I know that there is no currently working example of its linux demo driver "STSW-ST25R013" on Android, and would like some directions on how I could implement this integration, Iam already familiar with the Android framework architecture, and have seen that the st21nfca and st95hf chips have been integrated into android in the past, but in both cases they dont use RFAL, and the above mentioned demo driver for the st25r3916b chip does use it. So, is there any nfc chip that has been integrated into Android that is similar enough to st25r3916b for me to use as a base for integration? Any help or information is appreciated, and if ST could directly give me any support I would be glad to share the code with the community once its has been fully

I want to design an NFC device.I plan to use ST25R3916B as the reader, as well as ST25DV64 and M24SR64 as tags.I hope it can switch between different protocols in work, including ISO15693 and ISO14443.When using the ISO15693 protocol, the communication distance is 50cm. When using the ISO14443 protocol, the communication distance is 10cmI have read other related articles in the community. Can you help me check if there are any issues with my ideas1. I plan to design two antennas to accommodate different protocols (20x20cm and 3.7x4.3cm)2. The maximum antenna I can use is 20cm x 20cm. Can I achieve my target communication distance by adding some external circuits (filters, amplifiers)? Is it possible to encounter impedance matching issues when doing so? I see that the chip of the RF power amplifier is single ended, and I think it is not suitable for use in differential signals. Their resistance is usually 50 Ω.3. ST25R3916B offers two types of AAT algorithms, target amplitude and target phase. I understand that the target amplitude algorithm is used to achieve certain power level or detectable range.However, I don't understand the use cases for the target phase algorithm. What is the benefit of having a certain phase difference between the RFO and RFI? What parameter can be affected by the phase shift between the RFO and RFI. Thanks in advance. 

Hi, I have been reading the "STM32L031x4 STM32L031x6" datasheet (attached) and referring to the SMARTAG1 schematic (also attached). Why does the MCU require 1 x 100 nF and 3 x 1 uF capacitors? According to the power supply scheme, shouldn't there be 3 x 100 nF since there are 3 x VDD? 

I am porting the rfal and ndef for an ST25R3918 to zephyr.  I have the rfal 3.0 working and i have ndef v1.0.4 i am getting errors for the ndef layer and was wondering if this is the correct ndef.  I can read the UUID with RFAL so i know i can communicate with the tag.  Below is the error.  I do still have some timing errors to work out with the rtos and ISR servicing can be an issue. appNFC: NDEF NOT DETECTED (ndefPollerNdefDetect returns 5) Thanks,Ed

Hi, I am interested in creating a similar PCB to the SMARTAG1 but without a battery to reduce the size of the board. Is it possible to program and power the board purely through the SWD connector? 

We developed custom PCB with CR95HF on it. PCB on itself was tested and RF circuit tuned(PCB and antenna design is based on development kit), antenna frequency is at 13.56MHz(+/- 0.5KHz), at around -60dB, uart communication working, can put CR95HF to sleep, wakeup, set register and protocols, but the problem is that we can not detect NFC tag (we use 14443A). Also we can't successfully finish calibrate process, described in datasheet, since the tag is never detected. We don't have a lot of experience with RF system, so looking for any kind of help.Commands we use:-protocol setup 0x0202020000-tag respond request 0x04022607 Kind regards,Klemen

Can NFC tags be used between one another to create a grid? Or do I need to rely on BLE?For example, and without extreme accuracy, to understand that tag1 is located in back right corner of a small room. Tag2 is located in back left corner of same 10x10 small room. And that tags 3-10 are in additional locations in the same room. Assuming that each tag is within 1-3 feet of one another. Thanks,jan 

Dear Team,Under what scenarios does the api rfalNfcvPollerExtendedReadMultipleBlocks () return RFAL_ERR_NOMEM ?I am reading a maximum of 15 blocks always and the flags is RFAL_NFCV_REQ_FLAG_DEFAULT.Most of the times this works as expected and it fails rarely (example: 1/100 times). Could you please tell the scenarios this could happen ?RFAL version used is 2.8.0regards,Daan

Hi everyone,I am currently using this board to connect to my Ndivia jetson nano device, i checked the usb devices connected to the jeson nano and it still reconize the board. Also, i have successfully generated STUHFL.so file and a STUHFL_demo.out file as the document instructed . However, when i access the .out file the device couldn't reconized the board FW which result in v0.0.0.0 and the program terminated. How can i fix this? Also, the board still work well with window OS devices
