ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

Hello,I want to update the MCU firmware using NFC.I have a iphone and will create an app or use existing one, and st25dv dynamic tag which uses I2c to connect with stm32f411re.And want to create a custom bootloader in flash similar to BL provided by stm32 which is in system memory. The following steps are the one which I perform.I open the app and then select firmware upgrade.Selecting the file to flash. Click Start transfer and enter password.press start transfer to start transmitting binary image.Implementing logic in code:Application is already running and I do the above steps, then the mcu will detect the nfc message and then will do soft reset (system reset), then bootloader starts running.What should i do now to get the new firmware.?I mean my question is, how can the MCU say, hey iPhone, im in bootloader please start sending the firmware now. (I got this question because, i already pressed start transfer button in the iphone which made to swtich to bootloader code after system r

One is using ST25FTM library, as explained in AN5512, with examples in the STSW-ST25R-LIB i.e. to send data there exists this function:The other one comes with the X-CUBE-NFC7, with functions named as "NFC07A1_" that are wrappers to functions named "ST25DVxxKC_"i.e. to send data there exists this function:Which ones are I am supposed to used? Hello,If the NFC operates at 13.56MHz and data rate is 100–420 kbps.How fast a data of 10kB can be transferred with a 100kbps speed.?Is it (10kB * 8/100k) + (10kB * 8/100k) * (overhead) ?Regards,Vmere

Hello,I'm developing a project where we will be using a ST253916 for a reader/writer device (base station) and a ST25DV type 5 tag (battery powered device). The idea is to transmit data from battery device to the base station. It will be hundred of bytes or so (data from sensors). per day. Both devices are pretended to be paired all night (8 hours). It would be better to use Mailbox and store data through Fast Transfer Mode or NDEF messages written to EEPROM memory? Speed is not important in this use case. It should be a bi-directional (half duplex is okay) communication. I am not sure this can be done through standard NFC NDEF messages.Thank you,Dani

Hello, I am working on project where I need to check if field is falling or rising. I have enabled the filed change interrupt in GPO, which works fine to generate the GPO interrupt. Unfortunately both the interrupt flags for field change interrupt i.e. field falling and field rising interrupt flags are set irrespective of whether reader is moved towards the tag or away from the tag. Is this the general case that both the flags are set on field change interrupt? If not then is there any setting which can be used to control the flag being set?Any help would be much appreciated!

I am checking NFC operation using NFC-06A1 and Nucleo-L476RG board and STM32CubeExpansion_NFC6_V1.1.0 software.Implementation contents of demo_polling.c, It was confirmed that general card (NFC-A) and tag (using CE mode) were read at the same time.There is no problem with the recognition speed of CE mode, but the recognition speed of general cards is slow.In the demo operation, the polling cycle of the normal card (NFC-A) is 1 second, and it was confirmed that it is related to the discParam.totalDuration setting.If the discParam.totalDuration value is set to 500, the card recognition cycle becomes faster, but the CE mode operation hardly works.In CE mode, even if the authentication speed is slower than the current one, please inquire about how to speed up the card recognition speed.

Hi ST,We are currently adapting ST code into a Linux device driver to control a ST25RU3993.We are trying to integrate the RSSI calculation.Following the AN4971 Rev2 and this ST question, we use formula meanRSSI = [RSSI(I) + RSSI(Q)] / 2 Pin (in dBm) = 2.1 * meanRSSI - GWhen comparing our readings with GUI calculations for the same values of LogQ and LogI, with the same rxgain, we don't find the same Pin. After doing a lot of readings, we can see that most of the values are "shifted" by 2 units of LogQ and LogI (See image below). Can you help us figure out what's wrong with our readings ?Thanks,Thomas

HiI am trying to create an application using arduino which will read 4 NDEF text messages where will be stored data needed to establish Wi-Fi connection (host, ssid, password, token).I did try to run example from stduion ST25 library and thats work fine but only for URL NDEF.Do you have any working example to show how to read (not need to write) 4 different text NDEF and use those data as I described above?I would be very gratefull for any help.thank you!

Hello,I'm searching the low level command to create multiples ndef files in a st25ta 2k tag. I know that there is a field in the system file that specifies the number of ndef files, but it is read only, so it isn't possible to specify the number of ndef files with an update binary command.I know it is possible to create multiple ndef files because on the software st25pc-nfc, there is a field where we can specify the number of ndef files we want, but it is high level and i don't know how it works.It is not possible either to update the CC to add the TLV of a new ndef file because it is read only too.I've searched on the tag datasheet, there is a topic, the 7.8 called : create and update an ndef file, but it doesn't explain at all how to create an ndef file.Best regards.

Hello, I am working on a system whereby I need an antenna no wider than 20mm, can be 30mm long. Rather than making my own (and possibly messing it up) I was wondering whether you had example antenna layouts that have been designed before. Currently looking at using the ST25R11 because of the automatic antenna tuning, but could be open to alternate readers. Need to read a tag 20mm in diameter at a distance of approximately 20mm. After successfully launched ST25R3911 (in 14443-A smart card reader mode) without RFAL , using only analysis of dialog on ST25R3911B-DISCO there was a need to implement an 14443-A emulator based on ST25R3916. With the DISCO everything is easy : logic analyzer, datasheet, and a week to learn and reproduce control commands for ST. The result is a sequence of instructions and register values to implement read mode, sleep mode and so on.ST25R3916 it’s difficult here, let’s say I’m not friends with RFAL in the context of integration into my project and I don't have access to something like DISCO for 3916.The Q is : in which document can I find a sequence of commands using RFAL or register values / direct commands and algorithm for implementing the emulation mode ?

Hello, ​I am working on ST25RU3993 STUHFL SDK package v3.1.0.0 to run the STUHFL_demo applications on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2 device. Following the instructions specified in the user manual (UM2618), I compiled the middleware source files on RPi 3B using the makefile provided. The installed gcc version and the kernel version of RPi 3 which I've worked on are as follows, respectively:gcc (Debian 10.2.1-6) 10.2.1 20210110Linux raspberrypi 5.15.32-v8+ #1538 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 31 19:40:39 BST 2022 aarch64 GNU/LinuxThen, I compiled STUHFL_demo application as well without any errors although there are some casting and conversion warnings. And, I was able to generate the executable named as STUHFL_demo.out. We are trying to interface ANT7-T-ST25DV04K and CMWX1ZZABZ-078 (MuRata LoRaWAN module that has STM32L0). When we read the NFC chip using I2C by the host processor STM32L0 (in LoRaWAN Module), we are reading garbage data (corrupted). However if we use a nucleo STM32L4 dev board to read the NFC, we don't see any issues. Not sure if why L0 does not work?We tried I2C pull ups and all of them are good. There are other I2C sensors on the same bus, we do not see any issues. Any input is appreciated.

I am trying to develop an application in C/C++ (QT) to perform an ISO 15693 R2H FTM data transfer with an STDV04 tag using the STR25R3111DISCOComm DLL. I am able to link to the DLL, connect to the DISCO board and perform a passive read on my tag using my own code. I have also been able to perform successful FTM transfers using the ST Tag Editor. But it is not at all clear how I perform those transfers in my code using the DLL.Below is the log from ST25DV FTM Demo of the type of transfer I wish to perform. How do I reproduce that with DLL calls?I tried using iso15693TxRxNBytes() to send the data that is being logged as sent by the ST25R3911B_SENDRECEIVE commands, but when I get to sending command 0xAA, I always get an INVALID_CRC error back.Reading other posts, I think I need to use the rfalStartTransceive() / rfalGetTransceiveStatus() commands, but I cannot workout what I need to actually send. They always just return data that suggests that I am sending the wrong thing,

Lets start with what works... I can write NDEF payload to ST25DV via I2C and read it back via I2C and using NFC Tools App.... This works fine and perfectly. I can also write NDEF messages using NFC Tools, and read back what I wrote no problem. The exact issue comes up when I try to read what I wrote to the ST25DV tag (using NFC Tools) using NFC. I don't get garbage exactly... i do get some correct bytes out (the NDEF header is mostly correct), but the payload data portion seems corrupted. What i get from reading via I2C is repeatable...as in I read the same corrupted data with every read. If I write a new NDEF message via I2C, then the corruption no longer exists and I can read back the NDEF message that I wrote (via I2C) without issue. NFC Tools App allows you to read the memory from the ST25DV. The memory I am reading doesn't match what I read via I2C after I write to the ST25DV using the NFC Tools App. The NFC Tools App seems to have access to a different memory then what the I2C do
