STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

I'm trying to use Arduino 2.3.2 with an STM32F405 board and I configured it to use these recommended settings, but I can't open the Serial monitor for the board. It can connect to my laptop and even upload code successfully, but I can't access the ports menu and receive Serial output from the board.I'm able to get the Ports menu to open back up if I go into the Device Manager and add additional ports, but usually my boards use COM3 or COM5, which I cannot access through the ports menu. All of the legacy hardware I install (tried the Arduino USB Serial adapter and the STMicroelectronics Virtual COM port) will only install in ports after 5. I was only able to get it working once, and that was when I was able to connect to COM5, but I don't know what happened to allow access to COM5, and it stopped working as soon as I attempted to upload a different sketch to the board.

Hi, UM2970 for the STM32C0116-D says about CN1/CN5: "The extension connectors are available on the STM32C0116-DK Discovery kit to support flexibility in user applications." But, half of the CN5 pins are N.C.. Does anybody know, what extensions are available or the designers had in mind for CN5?KnarfB 

Hi all,I'm using MCP2515 for a CAN application in the NUCLEO STM32WL board. I've managed to get it to work in pulling mode, however, I want to use interrupt mode. For what I looked, I just have to enable the MCP interrupt pin in EXTI mode in cubeMX, but the MCP interrupt pin that I set (PA0) is already set as the BUT1 pin (on board button). I didn't change the configurations, only set in the callback to activate if occurs the rising edge of BUT1_Pin (tried with falling edge too).It didn't work, but I don't know if I have to configure something more, or the fact that the pin is shared with the button changes something and it could be the problem.Any insights will be helpfull.

I have programmed all the pins of port A as GPIO input pins on my STM32H503rb. Now, I am not able to use the ST-link to reprogram anything into the microcontroller.How do I reprogram it?

Hello,I came across a behavior that I don't understand. In the board's datasheet, I can clearly see alternate function for pin PA3 is USART2_RX but once set, it doesn't work. When I set USART_RX on pin PA15, it works just fine. Can someone explain why it doesn't work? Maybe there are some limitiations which I don't understand or it is MCU malfunction.

Hi Team,I am Using NUCLEO-F439ZI EVM, while using ethernet interfacing,In the RMII mode: LWIP -> Platform Setting -> Driver_PHY - both LAN8742 and DP83848 are enable.In the MII mode (both half-duplex and full duplex):LWIP -> Platform Setting -> Driver_PHY - only DP83848 are enable.My problem was, while using TCP client and server programming, I choose MII mode, I does not show LAN8742. while using RMII mode, the sent from PC -> EVM board, it cannot accept the data. Hello everyone, sorry if this is too easy of a task but I am quite frustrated. Can anyone help? I want to use CP2102 USB to UART bridge to send data from my PC to my Nucleo, then send the exact same data from my Nucleo to the PC so I know that the data has been received successfully. I have connected the Tx of CP2102 to the Rx of UART2 and Rx of CP2102 to the Tx of UART2, then connected the grounds and VCCs of the chip and board together (I am using 3.3V for this project. The baudrate I am currently using is 115200 but I have used 9600 with no changes to the result. I have also changed the UART ports I have used, to no avail: Did both receiver and transmitter on UART1, the receiver on UART1 with the transmitter on UART2, the receiver on UART2 with the transmitter on UART1... I thought maybe my CP2102 was faulty but when I short TX and RX I do get the echo of my typing back so that was not it either.The CP2102's transmitter's LED is blinking when I type, which is a good sign, but the re

Hello everybody, I am somewhat new to the world of STM and still learning. I have written the code that reads the data over UART than it sends specific data "calculated" from the UARTS data to SPI then it reads back from SPI than it sends it to UART. The problem is when I send the data to the MCU (STM NUCLEO-F091RC board) the data is almost 85% of the time not received as it should. I have tried fetching the data with several programs. For know DockLight seems to be the best at doing it for the debuging. I am using interrupted receive and transmit for the UART so I dont need to wait the timeout. I am not using delays as I had incresed the Baud rate of the SPI and UART the frequency working frequency of the MCU is at 48 MHz. If you would need code I will post it after I clean up the comments in the code.

Hi all,I have noticed a difference between LAN8742 datasheet and the circuit on STM32F746 Discovery board.This is an extract of the schematics of the demo board:The pull-ups R90 to R93 are directly connected to "3V3"whereas in the LAN8742 datasheet (Revision 1.1 (05-21-13)) they are all connected through a ferrite to "3V3":   Was this an error of the developers of the Demo board or simply a better solution ? If in the latter case, why ?

Hi all   I just designed my first custom PCB running on an STM32U585(VIT6). Or let's say it was desired to run on a STM32...As I couldn't get the MCU noticed by neither the STM32CubeMX nor the STM32CubeProgrammer, I designed another board that just holds the MCU itself, a LED (incl. Resistor), and pinouts for VDD, GND, PA13, PA14 and NRST. I designed that very bare minimum PCB thinking that it may eliminate all disturbing elements. But even with that PCB I'm facing the same errors. The MCU was ordered at Digikey. I am using the STEVAL-STWINBX1 development board and have downloaded the FP-SNS-DATALOG2 software.I have a Segger J-Link Base and tried to flash the software to the board using STM32Cube IDE, but the flashing failed and now the board has stopped working.During the flashing procedure, I got the following warning which I clicked yes to...And now I get the following error...The board is connected to the battery and also USB to the PC as well as the Segger J-Link.The power LED is flashing at about 4Hz, but the other LEDs are off.I cannot even get the board to start in DFU mode (by holding the reset button whilst connecting the board to the USB lead).And I cannot connect to the board using STM32Cube Programmer.How can I get the board working again ?    

I followed This Youtube Video from ST  for setting up USB CDC in the hopes I can pass data from a sensor through to my PC for processing. The video demonstrated how to echo back messages in the `usbd_cdc_if.c` file which worked and I could send and receive the same message using Hercules SETUP serial port monitor. I can't seem to get CDC_Transmit_FS() to send data other than echoing messages back. I've read that it could cause a USB lock as the device needs to be queried by the host but then This Video shows sending data straight from the Main loop. I'm new to STM32 but I feel like Transmitting bytes over Serial shouldn't be this mysterious and there isn't much content online for this board. Any suggestions or experience with this issue is welcome and thanks. hello guys, i am using a FTDI FT232B17 for serial communicaiton with my stm32f429 board. i'm using keil uvision, and not using any libraries other than stm32f429xx.h to write the code. i am facing problems "receiving" data from the ftdi-ft232 to my STM32 board. i have successfully sent data from stm32f429 and am able to see it on tera-term/real-term etc, but i am not able to echo or receive data, any ideas where it could be wrong? i have double checked my hardware connections. while running the program when i click "send" from the Real-term, light blinks on the ft232 board but unfortunately nothing is received on stm32.

Hi, I have an STM32F429I-DISCO1 board. I have been learning how to use it and I thought it would be good to see how the professionals do it by looking at the original firmware. I downloaded en.stsw-stm32138, which has STM32F429I-Discovery_FW-V1.0.3 in it. It seems to have examples for EWARM, MDK-ARM and TrueSTUDIO, but not STM32CubeIDE. This seems a bit odd not supporting your own IDE or have I missed something?Thanks in advance, Lance.

But when I release the button, the falling interrupt responds very slowly. It takes almost a second.No matter how hard I look at it, I can't tell why this phenomenon occurs. When I look at the falling wave using an oscilloscope, it falls quickly without being as slow as the falling interrupt reaction rate.
