Which MCU in STM32 family is the best selection for using SAR 16-bit ADC related project

Questions:

1. How many STM32 families offer SAR 16-bit ADCs?

2. Which MCU in STM32 family is the best choice for using SAR 16-bit ADC related project with the lowest cost?

Thanks

Hello @RongShengWang

I suggest you use one of the STM32H7 MCUs mentioned in this table:

More details can be found on the AN5354.

Best Regards.

Hi,

Thanks - I did read the docs you sent.

I still have the question - Why STM32H7 is better than STM32F3's SAR 16-bit ADC - Our focus is only on SAR 16-bit ADC and the cost -

   since -

(1). We use two SAR 16-bit ADC with very low sampling rate - 10KS/s.

(2). We only use 1 external analog input on each SAR 16-bit ADC.

(3). The accuracy and the cost are to be compared.

I wish to know more details.

    Thanks,

Rong

in fact, the STM32F3 will be the best choice as a price. But as you can see on the ARM®Cortex®-M4 32b MCU+FPU, up to 256KB Flash+32KB SRAM, timers, 4 ADCs (16-bit Sig. Delta / 12bit SAR), 3 DACs, 2 comp., 2.0-3.6 V the STM32F3 include 12-bit SAR and 16-bit Sig Delta ADC:

But, what you were asking for is SAR 16-bit ADCs that is available on the STm32H7 that I've mentioned you.

Thanks,

You said "in fact, the STM32F3 will be the best choice".。

Why -

1. Because the accuracy of SAR 16-bit ADC in STM32F3 is better than STMH7?

2. Because of its lower price?

Could you specify the part number in STM32F3 for me? Thanks,

Rong

Sorry, i've forget to mention that the STM32F3 is the best choice based on the price. But, the STM32F3 does not implement SAR 16-bit ADC but SAR 12-bit ADC and 16-bit Sig Delta (not SAR) ADC as mentionned on the datasheet linked in my previous post (and the screenshos of my previous post). For the parts rhat we are toking about are the STM32F373 and STM32F378.

Best Regards.

Dear @RongShengWang ,

my recommendation for this part : H7B0RB in LQFP64 package .

 https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-microprocessors/stm32h7b0rb.html#sample-buy

There is no Specific Board for it  but is best match to your requirements.

Ciao

Thanks Ciao.

Is there any applicable Evaluation Board for us to try first?

Please give us the part number if you can.

I assume we can use Cubemax and its IDE. Correct?

Are there any useful design information link or/and other useful information links you can offer?

Thanks,

Rong

The part suggested by @STOne-32  is the STM32H7B0RBT. It is supported by Cube Tools. But as he said there is not any board for this MCU.

Best Regards.
