Can the ST-LINKv3 interface on the DISCO board be used with IAR Workbench to run workbench in simultaneous dual-core debug mode ( master/slave project constructs )?

I have seen simultaneous or synchronous dual-core debugging within Workbench using the I-Jet from IAR, and I believe the DISCO board has an interface for connecting an I-Jet to; however, I'm wondering why the ST-LINKv3 can't do it, as it supports shared mode as well. What was ST's intent, to only debug each core separately?
