I don't think there is a specific Firmware for communication between STM32U5A9J_DK with LCD 16*2 External I2C device. What I suggest you is to migrate one of the available examples on the internet or YouTube using STM32F4 or other boards for examples. But why are using the external LCD 16*2? our discovery board integrate a 2.47‑inch RGB 480 × 480 pixels TFT round LCD module which you can use for a very good displaying experience:
