ILI9806 init DPI mode

Trying to make KD043WVFPA084-01-C015B LCD to work - custom board 32H735 chip. Display is from Startek that probably went under. Web page disappeared and no one answers emails. Display uses ILI9896E chip and as per data sheet it is setup for DPI mode (24bit 480 RGB x 800).

Has anyone used this display, or similar with ILI9806E in DPI mode and could share init file?

I tried couple of files guys posted for DSI mode of the operation- I believe that regardless DPI or DSI initialization of the display should be very similar. I verified chip programming by reading all registers. It doesn't work and what is frustrating the most is that is not consistent- that's why i will not talk particular symptoms. Hardware (LTDC) seems to work - verified with analyzer.
