ST-LinkV2 - "could not verify ST device"

My STlink V2 is not being detected. I bought an original stlink but it's still not being detected. I had a clone previously. It's frustrating why it's only happening with me. It says could not verify ST device. When I update it it says can't detect ST Link. And I don't even know how I am able to update stlink every time I connect it. Please help.

Can you show pictures of the device, front and back?

    Is it detected with STM32CubeProgrammer?

It is not being detected in STM32CubeIDE. I will download STM32CubeProgrammer and let you know

    Hello @jayanth0625

Please share more details: which product, board are you using? if using ST board or custom board?

Do you have a problem when using STM32CubeProgrammer and connecting to ST-Link?

I am using STMCubeIDE. My board s STM32F4VE which is a custom chinese black board. It contains STM32F407VET6 microchip. I am not able to use the debug option because my ST link is not getting verified or not being detected. I am able to upload code when using STM32 ST-Link Utility. But apart from flashing the board I am not able to do anything else.

I will look at the provided link and try it out. Thanks!

If it works with ST-Link Utility but not the others, most likely the programmer is fake. Can't tell from the pictures. You could look at the circuit board, might be clues there.

If you bought it from anywhere other than a reputable supplier, it's likely fake.

it is real. But the could not verify error still comes. It works will programmer and utility but the SWV feature doesn't work. I have done firmware upgrades but CubeMX still fails to detect it. It is genuine I am 100% because of the difference in packaging from the clone.
