Question

STLINK-V3 is unusable after firmware update. Can it be recovered by flashing the firmware by another STLink?

When connecting to my new STLNK-V3 I was asked to update the firmware. During firmware update I got an error message saying that the firmware update failed. Now the STLink is not recognized by the PC any more. Is there a way to flash the whole firmware e.g. using another STLink and a firmware file?

Did you try to un-and replug?

Yes, I have tried it several times. In the meantime I have connected another STLink V2 to the SWD connector of the V3 (Using CN2 of the MB1441). When I open the STM32Cube Programmer the STM32F723 of the V3 is recognized and its internal flash seems to be completely empty.

There are binaries of the V3 bootloade out there.

    Thank you for your reply.

Fount them. The STLink is now recognized as USB device again, But it seems that there is also configuration data located at 0x080100000 missing. The upgrader tells me that it does not know how to upgrade the device. I think I have spend enough time on this. I will put the STLink into the electronic scrap bin.
