Target Voltage Detection Fail Issue

Hello,

I got a stlm32 disco board. I cannot Flash.

So,I used STM32 ST-LINK UTILITY. Any connection fail even under reset. This one show Target Voltage Detection Fail. The board is powered by the USB CN2 Connector. The measurment on the CN4 Connector shows 3,3 v between 1 and 3 pins.( which seems normal)

Could this be a software issue ?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your answer.

My board is stm32h747i-disco which include theST-LINK .

Following your advice, I used the STM32CubeProgrammer.

I did a succesfull upgrade firmware but connect failed.

Report is: Error: No STM32 target found! If your product embeds Debug Authentication, please perform a discovery using Debug Authentication.

I try to understand this ??

    Hello,

    Many thanks for your comments.

    I understand

    1. Bridge shoud be between 1 an 2 on JP6. This the case
    2. I try bridge or no bridge on JP3. Same result

The green led D8 is on.

After that, I still have the same error on stm32Cube programmer. I cannot flash anything. So no demo

    and at R83 :

    here stlink checks voltage...should be 3,3 + 1,6 V .. about.

Not sure that's the most current firmware for the ST-LINK/V3 but I wouldn't recommend just blindly applying things until you have a basic understanding of what's going on, or wrong.

Did you replace the demo firmware are some point? Or erase the current content?

Have you tried "Connect Under Reset" ?

    • Hello,
    • Thanks for your answers.
    • The history of this board is the following ;
    1. First time, I plug ths USB cn2 , It was no demo. Black screen with only red led front and green led back. The community mentionned several boards like that.
    2. Following some communiity advice, I used the Demo program_hexfile.bat file again. I got the loading progress bar. This progress bar disappeared at 96%. So the flashing process was not going to completion. The screen was still black
    3. Then , I try a TouchGFX example . This one worked perfect including transfer to Stm32CubeIde, debbugging and flash.
    4. After that, impossible to flash again. So, no way to erase or to flash anything.
    5. Finally, I try to Connect Under Reset (Hardware or Software). Report is: Error: No STM32 target found! If your product embeds Debug Authentication, please perform a discovery using Debug Authentication.
    6. The voltage on the commun point R83, R86 is 1,64 Volt

Hi BRobe.3. I'm currently experiencing the same issue. Did you find a solution?

    Hi folks

I'm struggling with exactly the same failure.

I use a ST link V2 (a genuine one, I must say) day to day to flash STM32 from various board.

And today, this little thing refuse to program ... when I go to "settings" I have "target voltage" detection fail...

I'm sur of the voltage on the Vtarget Pin because I measure it with my DMM, it si 3.3V sharp!

what's wrong?... is smbdy can post ST-Link V2 schematics just to know where this voltage goes?

    best regards....
