Question

B-L462E-CELL1 not connecting to TruPhone

Just received this and it doesn't connect. I contacted Truphone and they were not much help. They did mention to make sure the apn is iot.truphone.com.

I know almost nothing about this device and the instructions are sparse but I did find a menu item for Cellular Service. It did not have anything in the apn field. I set the menu as follows:

Sim Slot 0: 1 (MODEM EMBEDDED SIM)

APN: iot.truphone.com

CID: 1

username:

password:

modem target_state: 2

attachment timeout: 180000 ms

Network register mode: 0 = Auto

Operator name format: 9 = Not present

Operator name: 00101

Access techno present: Not present

Network register mode: 7 = CatM1

Low power inactivity timeout: 1000 ms

NFMC activation : 0

It still does not connect. Are these values ok?

Also it seems the my.murata.com website is not accepting new logins. So how can I get further information about this board?

I manage to use TRUE( Local ISP operator in Thailand) NB-IOT sim card successfully but only for NB-IOT not LTE-M1

    By setting

    at at%nwoper="DEFAULT"

    at at%setacfg=radiom.config.preferred_rat_list,"NBIOT"

Default firmware "none" and "CatM" don't work. (REGISTRATION_DENIED)

Is it should be "CATM" or "CatM"?, very frustrate without AT command document

However, no luck on Truphone both CatM and NBIOT

After long waiting period always return

    AT%CEER?<CR><LF><CR>

      <CR><LF><LF><CR>

      %CEER: 1,"NAS-EMM","ATTACH","REJECT",#15,NO_SUITABLE_CELLS_IN_TRACKING_AREA<CR><LF><LF><CR>

      <CR><LF><LF><CR>

      OK<CR><LF><LF><CR>

I guess my location not coverage by Truphone, even Thailand is in their Country list.

    FYI

About a few weeks ago, I managed to make my board to use eSIM by truphone to connect to Internet.

Today suddenly it stopped working after I flashed the original binary code (l462_t1se_socket_v520.bin in STM32CubeExpansion_CELLULAR_V5.2.0\Projects\B_L462E\Demonstrations\Cellular\Binaries) into it.

It always says "SIM not inserted", even I select slot 0. I tried slot 1 as well, same result.

It's really strange and annoying. I attached the print-2-screen log for your info.

    Can anyone give some comments?

    Dear HDaji.1

It is indeed strange since the eSIM is always present. The X-CUBE-CELLULAR firmware does not change perfom any control to the eSIM. Please, can you try to use the X-CUBE-CELLULAR 700 to get more information about the SIM selection configuration.

    Hi Solofo,

Can you be more specific on what I need to do?

There are many pieces of info sheets and how-to documents about this board, um2567, 2426, 2743, etc. I just cannot find anything related to trouble-shooting eSIM.

If SIM card is not found, it's not helpful to use AT command to retrieve SIM info, is it?

BTW, I think I have changed (messed up) content of EEPROM. Is it the cause? I guess not.

    Dear Solofo,

I cannot find anything in those documents (um2426, 2567, 2743, etc) that is related to eSIM card trouble-shooting? FYI, I have activated it on Truphone.com and used it for a few weeks.

BTW, I think I have changed (messed up) the content of EEPROM when I tried the board. Is it the cause?

I am in the USA in the state of Wisconsin experiencing the same issues. I just purchased the B-L462E-CELL1 board two weeks ago and TRUPHONE has been very little help. I get an average of a new question from them every 2-3 days. Has anyone compiled a list of the steps to solve the REGISTRATION DENIED problem?

Some of the first version of the boards are delivered with “network operator? parameter in the modem firmware, configured as “DEFAULT? instead of “Truphone?.

To change to “Truphone?, use CLI to send the AT command : AT%NWOPER=“TRUPHONE?

User can also check the current configuration of NWOPER by entering AT CLI: AT%NWOPER?

to send at command command in console just enter

    atcmd AT%NWOPER?

    and return

Note: before you can enter "cst polling off" and enter in CLI to avoid too much information displayed.

After you can restore with "cst polling on"
