Firmware version verification

is it possible to verify the FW version of MCU using stlink or some other stm tool ?

i have programmed my MCU with FW version 5.5.5 and i would like to verify using JTAG or stlink or some other stm tool.

someone told me it is factory protected you cannot verify ?

can you people plz share some useful info ?

If the MCU is protected by "read-out protection" (RDP 1 or 2) then you cannot read the internal flash via debugger interface with any tool.

But you can run the firmware to tell you its own version.

If the part is readable, download and compare, or place a version tag that is clearly visable in the front of the device
