How to connect Nucleo board F446RE via USB cable to a notebook?

Hello, I bought 2 Nucleo boards F446RE, installed USB drivers from official STM website (x64 system, Win 10), but after the connection with USB cable, the board is not recognized by the system. The device manager shows error code 43 - A request for the USB device descriptor failed. The LED - LD1 blinks few time after connection, then it stops blinking and the board is not recognised.

I tried a new cable, another board (same type), another notebook with the same system and I also tried reinstall the USB drivers.

Thank you very much for support.

Ondrej

The USB connector on NUCLEO-F446RE is for SW code debugging and programming with IDE installed on your PC. So the ST-LINK driver must installed correctly on your PC firstly.

    Hello,

today I reinstalled everything again (ST LINK driver included), tried another (third) cable and now it works fine.

I did everything in the same way as previously, so I don't know the reason, but now it works.

Thank you for your time and support.
