Please select "Connect Under Reset" mode from Target->Settings menu and try again.
If you're trying to connect to a low frequency application , please select a lower SWD Frequency mode from Target->Settings menu.

    Hello,

First, ST-Link Utility tool is obsolete so please use STM32CubeProgrammer instead.

Second, check the power supply of your MCU.

Third: are you using one of low power modes in the program already loaded in the MCU?

Hello @mubarak and welcome to the community,

Please open a new thread as this is closed and provide more details about your HW: MCU part number HAW: ST board or Custom board. If custom board you need to share your schematics.

Tips on how to post a thread on this link.

Hi,i had the same question, after i used STlink-V2 to connected my a custom board,i could not connected my chip(stm32f407ZE) anymore.it looked like RDP(read out protection) level 2,I tryed to pull up BOOT to high but it is Invalid。the error also is:

    Can not connect to target!

Please select "Connect Under Reset" mode from Target->Settings menu and try again.
If you're trying to connect to a low frequency application , please select a lower SWD Frequency mode from Target->Settings menu.

in two months, this error had cause my 5 boards bircked.programes is disappeared.the chip could do nothing.

If your MCU is at RDP level 2, it's no more recoverable. So need to replace or use another MCU.

To all: please open a new thread as this was closed.

    Thank you.
