Installed 3.6.4 from scratch on Mac, nothing seems to work
Hi, I've mostly come up to speed with the STM32 environment by way of CubeIDE (with integrated MX, prior to the recent 2.0 switch). With this most recent update, it seems like the forward-looking direction is to migrate to VScode.
So, I tried that - I installed the extension and all its associated extension pack siblings. I can see the ST logo on the left of the pane, with a clock icon on it that doesn't seem to ever go away. Clicking on it reveals three panels, with clickable buttons. The top two - launching cubeMX or Finder - seem to work (albeit with a bit of a lag), but nothing in the Cube Resources pane seems to work, everything gives an error like:
command 'stm32cube-ide-core.command.open-user-guide' not found
And there are these moving blue lines above each pane that seem to suggest something is happening int he background, but after a half hour of sitting, they don't go away. 
Basically, I'm fairly confused how I'm meant to be interacting with this, and how to make the leap from the (apparently) "old world" of cubeIDE+cubeMX to whatever workflow I'm meant to be considering here with vscode. I can find some brief videos on youtube from ST advising how to 'get started', but they seem out of date and not wholly applicable to this current version, and it seems a little like the fact that I'm on a Mac might be complicating things (though I'm not terribly sure about that).
How can I get myself on the right path to using this?
