Errors building a project

I made a project with Empty Targeted Project Type and when trying to build the project, it shows an error with the following message:

Errors occurred during the build.
Errors running builder 'CDT Builder' on project 'HelloWorld'.
Internal error building project HelloWorld configuration Debug
Cannot invoke "org.eclipse.cdt.internal.core.settings.model.CBuildSettingCache.initEnvironmentCache()" because "this.fBuildData" is null
Internal error building project HelloWorld configuration Debug
Cannot invoke "org.eclipse.cdt.internal.core.settings.model.CBuildSettingCache.initEnvironmentCache()" because "this.fBuildData" is null

 I followed this steps with no solution

My CubeIDE instance started to throw the exact same error message at compilation.
