STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0 Windows cannot install toolchain

Dear all,

 

when I press Install button in the Toolchain Manager of the 1.17.0 CubeIDE it hangs after opening the subsequent dialog. I cannot close this dialog with neither mouse nor ESC key, need to terminate the task.

Could you provide more information about your OS and environment where you installed CubeIDE?

Thank you for your attention. My OS is Windows 10 version 22H2 build 19045.5131. System has 16Gb RAM, Typically 40% of it is free when STM32CubeIDE is running. Seems that it stucks on printing a message that is marked red on the image attached.

Actually, I am not able to reproduce the issue with the same OS environment as yours. The toolchain manager is working correctly and I successfully installed toolchains with CubeIDE 1.17.0.
I suggest reinstalling CubeIDE and trying again!

Exact same issue, except I do not get the option to select trusted sources.

It takes 10 minutes to verify toolchains upon starting toolchain manager.

Also it shows a previous toolchain as uninstalled even though I can clearly see it on the drive along with the newer toolchain. This new toolchain is breaking all my existing projects and making the binary crash after upgrading to the latest IDE. I assume the toolchain change is the reason. How do you add the existing on e back in, or make this toolchain manager actually install something? All my projects are now dead due to IDE upgrade, desperately needs fixing.

I have reinstalled CUBEIDE but get exactly the same result.

after clicking the finish button there is no response and does not download anything.

Please help, work has stalled on many projects due to incorrect gnu toolchain!

I finally got the trust window to display aftre many minutes, but still did not download and displays Installing software 13% and never moves

I finally after waiting an hour had the second trust window pop up and finally install it.

Please fix this! I was searching for an older version of CUBEIDE but see those have been removed as well.

Please fix this atrocious software and allow users to go back to old versions when you break it.
