Why is STM32CubeIDE search so bad? EDIT: Mee bad... sry

EDIT:  Found the search/replace window on a different monitor.  Is there some reason why searching in CubeIDE is so hard to do?  Half the time I hit Ctrl-F (like it says in the File menu) and nothing happens.  I have to read past forum posts to find that Ctrl-H used to work... well, now it does again!  But not Ctrl-F.  And when I want to do a line-by-line Replace, this function is not available... first, you have to close all open files, set Use Only Open Files In Editor, then shotgun the whole file!  This is not how any other editor or IDE works... I've complained about Atmel/Microchip's Studio but this is painful and turgid.  Is this why Keil and IAR are so often given as alternatives?  Am I dumb for using CubeIDE?  And don't get me started on how the Example Select popup completely takes over the OS UI... literally the only program I've ever seen do this.  Oh, here's another interesting tidbit... STM32CubeIDE is not available as a 'Label' for tagging here!  It's like they know it's bad, right?

OK, I found the problem.. first, I'm ***... second, the search dialog had been moved off the main window and did not relocate after restarting the app... with 3 monitors going I missed it.  Sorry, carry on... still not happy about the Example install taking over the OS.

To complain about IDE ...why not using the special part of forum ?

So selecting "other tools" and then complain about: >STM32CubeIDE is not available as a 'Label' for tagging here! < seems a bit ...strange to me.

And i dont like some "special features" in the IDE - but hey, if you dont like this free (!) IDE, just buy Keil or IAR.

 

About searching: menu-> edit-> find.. or ctrl-F shows:

...yes, thats standard "find", as on other IDEs also...so bad ?

or use in editor (mark text/word with mouse , "printf" i tried), then mouse-right-click -> search in files ...project i use often:

What else you want ?
