STLNK-V3PWR Communication With Python

Is there a way to communicate with the STLNK-V3PWR to extract current consumption?  (the Acquisition & Replay output).  I would like to communicate with it via Python (or other language) to automate current consumption measurements?

You can talk to it via its terminal menu over a COM port so fairly easy to do, no oem protocol etc. needed.
