Windows 7, getting the Cube Programmer API dependency missing error pop-up.

I thought the JRE had been built in

C:\>java -version
openjdk version "21.0.5" 2024-10-15 LTS
OpenJDK Runtime Environment Microsoft-10377968 (build 21.0.5+11-LTS)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM Microsoft-10377968 (build 21.0.5+11-LTS, mixed mode, sharing)

Why can't the Installer flag or identify issues during that part of the process?

Hello Clive,

As you might already know, Windows 7 is no longer supported due to migration to QT6 (Since STM32CubeProgrammer v2.16).

With that being said, could you please explain further the behavior you're seeing ?

Like many places we have a lot of old/junker equipment that might be running W7 or XP, stuff that's fully licensed and frankly worth less than the replacement cost. It would be helpful it software ran, even in limited fashion on older boxen. Or that the installer identified this as a problem before the circus started rather than after.

I might try to reinstall 2.16, I think we systematically purged Oracle/Java due to licensing issues.

Currently all present with this failure.cubeprogrammerdependency001.jpg

From a support perspective I'd like messages to be more specific about exactly what is wrong or missing, or that installers address, identify or remediate problems during their operation.

Hello Clive,

Thanks for your inputs.

For Windows 7, I suggest v2.15 or earlier versions.

Request logged to improve this on installer side, ticket n°197855 (To check if the OS is supported before launching the installer).
